One full month into 2016, many of you have worked hard to make positive nutritional and lifestyle changes as part of a New Year’s resolution. If that’s the case, then you’ve probably lost some weight – congratulations! You probably feel a little better, your clothes probably fit a little looser, and you likely have a little more energy. Excellent! That said, in spite of your success, you might have some nagging doubts in the back of your mind, thoughts like “How much longer do I have to keep this up?” or “Will I be able to keep off the pounds I lose?” or, given the season, “Will I be able to avoid overindulging in the Valentines chocolates that seem to be everywhere”. These doubts and are normal. After all, change is hard work! It takes time to feel like the new you is the ‘true’ you. There is no easy path to success. That’s why it’s important to have a few good friends to encourage you when you get frustrated or feel like you want give up.

LEAF is proud to announce our newest program offering: PODS™ – Pounds Off Discussion Sessions, where together, we will explore the ups and downs of weight management in a group setting. This affordable drop-in program offers a once monthly opportunity to connect with others on a similar journey as the one you have chosen to undertake. Facilitated by our registered dietitian, these sessions will cover new and emerging health and weight news, and answer the questions you have on your mind. The first session will be held on Thursday, 11 February 2016 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Come on by and join the discussion! Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority being given to regular participants.
